Since my early days, I’ve always been drawn to tattoos, especially traditional tattoos or American old school, as it’s often called. Growing up in Canada, I had close exposure to military and naval bases, and the first time I saw a traditional tattoo was on an officer, and I immediately knew I wanted a tattoo! The bold, bright “sticker-style” tattoo, worn with so much pride and with a story behind it, was what I was so attracted to, and it’s also what I continue to try to bring forward in the artwork I create.

I’ve been tattooing in Copenhagen since 2020 and have drawn a lot of inspiration from the old sailor times in Copenhagen, as well as from the badass tattooed King of Denmark, Frederik IX. My traditional style has been strongly influenced by artists from around the world, and I’m constantly studying and developing my artwork while honoring these legends and inspiring artists. Paul Dobleman, Lucas Ford, Henning Jørgensen, Jesper Starrider, Lyle Tuttle, and Bert Grimm, just to name a few, are artists from whom I’ve gathered information, inspiration, and passion. I think it’s a really important part for me to acknowledge those who came before me and to respect the traditional style in that way.

While working at Kaiju Tattoo Club, I’ve learned an incredible amount about tattooing and painting. Not only that, but I’ve now also formed a close bond with my colleagues in a collective way, and they’ve become like family to me. We are all proud of the shop and the fact that we can include everyone and make everyone feel welcome and safe in our studio.
